Beginning Again: Rethinking Our Relationship with Food, Body, and Self

There are moments in life when we are invited—not forced, not rushed—but gently invited to begin again.

For many of us, our relationship with food is not simply about what we eat. It is shaped by memory, culture, expectation, comfort, discipline, and, at times, quiet struggle. It holds layers of meaning that are often left unexplored, even in our own private reflections.

My book, I Used to Love You, Now Let’s Just Be Friends, which launched June 25th, began as a personal inquiry. I found myself asking questions that did not have quick answers:

  • What does it mean to truly listen to the body?

  • How do we move from control to understanding?

  • What would it look like to approach myself with compassion rather than critique?

Over time, I realized that these were not just my questions, but part of an experience shared by many, carried out in different ways, often without language, and sometimes without space to reflect.

Why I Created A Moore Abundant Life

This space is not intended to offer quick solutions or rigid frameworks.

Instead, it is a place for thoughtful consideration—for slowing down, for noticing, and for engaging with the deeper layers of our relationship with food, body, and self.

If you are here, you may already be in that process. Or perhaps you are just beginning to consider it.

Wherever you find yourself, you are welcome here.

An Invitation

As we move forward, I will be sharing reflections, practical insights, and moments of pause that invite us to approach this relationship with greater awareness and care.

For now, I leave you with a simple question:

What would it mean to relate to yourself with a little more understanding today?

Scripture for Reflection

"Because of the Lord's great love, we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning."

— Lamentations 3:22–23

Reflection

What new beginning might God be inviting you to embrace in this season of your life? Consider one small step you can take today toward greater awareness, compassion, and well-being.

If this reflection resonated with you, I invite you to stay connected as we continue this conversation.

Take care, and be well,
Sandra
